Short history
Man, in his journey of fulfillment, has the same vital needs, no matter the times he live in. The “Amado Agra society” was born from the effort of knowing these present needs and answering them. Thus, we've turned to the history of our evolution here on these Romanian lands. And what have we found out?
We have found that shepherding has been in our tradition throughout time; that we've been fascinated my bees' work; that the earth has been given to us to cultivate and to enjoy it's fructification.
In the year 2006, on November the 7th, the “Amado Agra” society begun it's journey. We've acquired the land, where we would see to our entire activity, consisting of the sheep herd, of the “karakul” and “turcana” breeds, today reaching up to 350 heads. For the guidance, protection and direction of the sheep herds, we have the “Romanian shepherd's of Bucovina” and the “Border Colly”, dogs of the “Sarmizegetuza breed”.
Also, in November 2006, we've planted 167 linden trees and built the beehive, which today consists of 60 bee families.
For feeding the heard throughout winter, we have cultivated Lucerne, fingers-and-thumbs and clover on 10 hectares of land.
In 2006 we've also managed to build the shelter for the sheep heard; it can shelter up to 650 animals.
In the spring of 2008, we've planted roses for jam, wishing to raise the plantation to up to 1100 roses. November 2008 meant, for “Amado Agra” the plating of 250 sweet cherry trees, as well as building a storage room for the products.
Through the use of it's own O.S.I.M. registered brand, the “Amado Agra” society hopes to feast you off it's own products.
